Summary: The role of Scheme Project Manager involves leading the delivery of rail-related projects for a prominent UK infrastructure organization. The position requires coordination of multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This is a 6-month contract, classified as inside IR35, with a hybrid working arrangement based in Stockport. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver works projects safely, to time, cost and quality, in line with governance, standards and legislation.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure CDM compliance and drive a positive safety culture; support incident/accident investigations when required.
- Build and maintain the baseline plan, manage resources and critical path and track progress, risks, issues and contingency.
- Manage stakeholders (internal/external) with clear communication and reporting.
- Oversee budget management, change control and configuration management per internal processes.
- Support business cases and lifecycle documentation with the Project Manager.
Key Skills:
- Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- APM membership or equivalent, ideally chartered/working toward.
- Proven application of CDM regulations on infrastructure projects.
- Strong project delivery track record.
- Budget management expertise and sound commercial awareness.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Demonstrable safety management experience in project environments.
- Desirable: Rail/infrastructure experience.
- Exposure to NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
- PRINCE2/PMI credentials.

This is a 6-month contract, inside IR35, hybrid in Stockport (3 days per week on site).
