Summary: The SCCM Engineer role involves the proactive packaging, testing, and deployment of software and updates within a Microsoft environment, requiring SC clearance. The position includes responsibilities for maintaining documentation, supporting end-user engineering tasks, and participating in IT infrastructure design. The engineer will also conduct data analysis to enhance security and compliance while mentoring colleagues in relevant technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of various deployment and scripting technologies, with a focus on Windows platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively package, test, and deploy software, OS, security patches, and updates.
- Maintain configuration documentation and participate in change management processes.
- Support end-user engineering tasks and understand desktop engineering standards.
- Conduct data analysis and liaise with stakeholders to implement security solutions.
- Mentor colleagues in technology packages and industry standard procedures.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new IT infrastructure.
- Conduct 3rd line support and troubleshooting as required.
Key Skills:
- Expert understanding of MSI/MSIX technology and transforms.
- Experience with Operating System Deployment (OSD) and tools like MDT.
- Experience in packaging applications for Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server.
- Demonstrable experience in package defect remediation.
- Administration of SCCM, MECM, and EPM/InTune.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Scripting experience using BAT, PowerShell, VB, and C#.
