Summary: Our government client is seeking Data Engineers with expertise in SQL and some familiarity with Python on Databricks for a hybrid role based in Swansea, Wales. The position involves migrating SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines. Candidates must hold or have held high-level security clearance and will be required to undergo security clearance prior to appointment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines.
- Work with data already in cloud storage and available in Databricks.
- Replicate SSIS packages in the cloud environment.
- Collaborate with the client on the migration of data from on-premise to the cloud.
Key Skills:
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Familiarity with Python on Databricks.
- Experience with SSIS and SSAS.
- Understanding of cloud solutions, specifically Azure.
- Security clearance or previous high-level security clearance.

Role details:
The team are migrating SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines (previously known as Delta Live Tables). This is mostly SQL knowledge but some familiarity with Python on Databricks will be beneficial.
SSIS and SSAS are on premise, and Databricks is a cloud solution on Azure. The client will handle the difficult elements on moving the data from on-premise to the cloud, so you will be working with data already in the cloud storage and already available in Databricks, replicating the SSIS packages.
Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
