Summary: Our government client is seeking 4 Data Engineers to assist with the migration of SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines. The role requires SQL expertise and some familiarity with Python on Databricks, with a hybrid working arrangement in Swansea, Wales. Candidates must hold or have previously held high-level security clearance, as security clearance is required prior to appointment. The initial contract is for 3-6 months with potential for extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines.
- Work primarily with SQL and utilize Python on Databricks as needed.
- Collaborate with the client to manage data already available in cloud storage and Databricks.
- Replicate existing SSIS packages in the cloud environment.
Key Skills:
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Familiarity with Python on Databricks.
- Experience with SSIS and SSAS.
- Understanding of cloud solutions, specifically Azure.

Role details:
The team are migrating SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines (previously known as Delta Live Tables). This is mostly SQL knowledge but some familiarity with Python on Databricks will be beneficial.
SSIS and SSAS are on premise, and Databricks is a cloud solution on Azure. The client will handle the difficult elements on moving the data from on-premise to the cloud, so you will be working with data already in the cloud storage and already available in Databricks, replicating the SSIS packages.
Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
