Senior Service Designer - GDS - SC Cleared or Eligible

We are looking for an experienced Senior Service Designer to join a large digital transformation programme, working on complex, high-impact public services.
You'll work across multidisciplinary Agile teams, helping shape services around genuine user needs and translating research, evidence and business requirements into clear, workable service designs.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead service design activities across discovery, exploration, design and delivery
- Map and improve end-to-end user journeys and services
- Create service blueprints and other service design artefacts
- Use research and evidence to identify problems, opportunities and improvements
- Work closely with User Researchers, Interaction Designers, Product Managers and Developers
- Facilitate workshops and communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders
- Turn complex requirements into practical, user-centred services
- Identify pain points, dependencies and opportunities across the wider service
- Contribute to Agile delivery and iterative design
- Champion accessibility, inclusion and user-centred design principles
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience as a Senior Service Designer
- SFIA Level 4 capability
- Strong understanding of User-Centred Design and service design principles
- Experience working across multidisciplinary Agile teams
- Strong experience mapping end-to-end services and user journeys
- Ability to use research and evidence to inform service design
- Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to provide specific examples of service design work and its impact
Desirable:
- Experience working to GDS standards and principles
- Public sector/government digital experience
- Strong experience producing service blueprints
- Experience working on complex or sensitive services
- Experience in secure or regulated environments
- Current SC clearance
Public sector experience is not essential, but strong GDS experience would be advantageous.
