Summary: We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to work onsite in Stevenage, focusing on the design, implementation, and support of on-premises network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong networking expertise and hands-on experience with enterprise-grade hardware and security platforms. This role requires a proactive individual who can troubleshoot network issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The position is a full-time commitment of 5 days a week for a rolling 3-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support on-premises network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across switching, routing, and Firewall layers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain network performance and security.
- Provide documentation and support for ongoing network changes and upgrades.
Key Skills:
- Proven track record as a Network Engineer in complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of on-prem networking, including:
- Layer 2/3 switching and routing
- VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF
- Network segmentation and high availability design
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network equipment (CCNP level or equivalent knowledge preferred).
- Good working knowledge of Fortinet (FortiGate) and Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
- Comfortable operating independently and proactively solving problems.
