Summary: The role of SC Cleared Linux Engineer focuses on supporting missile-system middleware solutions within a driven team dedicated to software deployment in Command and Control weapon systems. The position requires live SC Clearance and involves debugging complex software issues while maintaining Linux operating systems. The engineer will collaborate with a small team to innovate and resolve technical challenges in advanced missile systems. This is a six-month contract role based in Bristol, requiring on-site presence four days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support in-service missile-system middleware solutions and investigate software issues.
• Configure and maintain Linux Operating Systems (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including Kernel configuration and testing.
• Communicate technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve emerging issues in a timely manner.
• Engage in debugging and engineering investigations of complex software problems.
• Work on multiple applications across land and maritime projects in the systems software department.

Key Skills:

• Live SC Clearance.
• Experience with C or C++ (essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, Shell Scripting languages.
• Strong background in software engineering.
• Experience configuring and maintaining Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu).
• Ability to innovate and think critically to solve complex software problems.
