The Role
You will provide senior technical expertise across the design and assurance of an enterprise GCP platform, helping ensure the future-state environment is secure, well governed and ready for implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the existing GCP organisation structure, projects, access model and wider platform configuration.
- Contribute technical expertise to the design of a GCP landing zone and associated governance standards.
- Assess IAM, organisation policies, audit trails and security controls to identify gaps or improvements.
- Validate the use of services such as Security Command Center, logging and monitoring within the target platform.
- Build proof of concepts to demonstrate landing-zone, project provisioning and governance capabilities.
- Develop reusable infrastructure automation using Terraform and GCP landing-zone frameworks.
- Support the automation of engineering delivery through CI/CD tooling, including GitHub Actions.
- Highlight technical risks, dependencies and implementation considerations, providing clear recommendations for transition into delivery.
Essential
- Strong hands-on experience engineering enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform environments.
- Experience managing GCP organisations, projects and access controls across complex estates.
- Strong knowledge of IAM, organisation policies, audit logging and Security Command Center.
- Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code capability.
- Experience designing or implementing GCP landing zones and cloud governance models.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Fabric or similar landing-zone frameworks.
- CI/CD experience, ideally with GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, platform engineering and governance principles.
- Previous experience working in UK Government, the public sector or another highly regulated setting.
- Active SC clearance.
