Summary: The role involves providing Fibre Optic Engineering Review and Training Support for a major defence project in Bolton. Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultancy & Analysis
  • Conduct on-site assessment of existing fibre optic systems, processes, and practices across manufacturing, test, and design teams.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce a detailed findings and recommendations report.
  • Training Design & Development
  • Define learning outcomes based on consultancy insights.
  • Design a tailored training package for three distinct teams (Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Design).
  • Develop supporting materials such as guides, checklists, and reference documents.
  • Training Delivery
  • Facilitate a hands-on training session for selected engineers.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer and enable internal capability building.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with client stakeholders to align on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provide regular updates and incorporate feedback into the training solution.
  • Post-Training Support
  • Offer light-touch support post-delivery to address queries and reinforce learning.

Key Skills:

  • Strong technical background in fibre optic systems, including handling, testing, and design.
  • Experience in technical training design and delivery, ideally in a defence or high-compliance environment.
  • Ability to translate complex technical content into accessible learning materials.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (eg IEEE, IAAA, MIL-STD, IEC).
