Summary: iO Associates is seeking a DevOps Engineer with Active SC Clearance to work with a leading R&D organization. The role involves supporting the design, build, and automation of infrastructure, primarily working close to hardware and operating systems. This position requires on-site presence in London for 2-3 days a week and offers a competitive day rate. The contract duration is 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in on-premise, hybrid or hardware-adjacent environments.
  • Strong programming/Scripting skills (Python preferred, but Bash, Go, or similar also valued).
  • Good knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Ansible, CI/CD, GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, PowerShell, Git, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • A methodical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Pragmatic and collaborative approach to work.

iO Associates are partnered with a leading R&D organisation in their search for a DevOps Engineer with Active SC Clearance.

You'll be working close to the hardware and operating system, supporting the design, build and automation of the infrastructure.

Location: 2-3 days/week on-site in London
Day Rate: £500 - £550/day Outside IR35
Contract: 6 months

What we're looking for:

  • Strong Linux engineering skills (Ubuntu, RHEL or similar)

  • Proven experience in on-premise, hybrid or hardware-adjacent environments

  • Strong programming/Scripting skills (Python preferred, but Bash, Go, or similar also valued)

  • Good knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (eg, Ansible, CI/CD, GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, PowerShell, Git etc.)
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals

  • A methodical, problem-solving mindset - able to diagnose difficult, low-level issues
