Summary: We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to manage and optimize containerized applications and CI/CD pipelines for a defense project in Bristol. The role involves working closely with development teams to ensure secure and high-performance deployments across various environments. The position requires SC clearance and is focused on implementing DevSecOps practices. This is a hands-on role that demands expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Containerise Front End (React/TypeScript) and Back End (.NET/C#) services; maintain Docker images and Helm charts.
  • Administer Kubernetes clusters, VM life cycle, and environments via VMware vSphere.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, including DevSecOps tooling (Trivy, Dependency Track, SonarQube, SBOM generation).
  • Oversee infrastructure, authentication, access control, patching, and hardening for Linux and Windows systems.
  • Implement monitoring and logging (Grafana, Prometheus, EFK/ELK) and ensure observability of systems.
  • Coach and enable development teams, defining and promoting DevOps best practices.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Proficiency in GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere and managing Linux/Windows Server environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Strong understanding of React, TypeScript, .NET, and C#.
  • Ability to coach and promote DevOps best practices within teams.
