SC Cleared Data Scientist/Senior Data Scientist/Solution Engineer - 12 Month Contract

• London (Waterloo) - Hybrid - 12 Months

We are currently seeking an SC Cleared Data Scientist/Senior Data Scientist/Solution Engineer for an initial 12-month contract based in Waterloo, London (Hybrid working pattern).

This is a high-impact role sitting at the perfect intersection of advanced machine learning and robust software engineering. You will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying scalable industrial-grade ML applications (such as fraud detection and predictive maintenance) within highly secure, regulated sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Algorithm Design: Design and deploy scalable Machine Learning algorithms tailored for industrial applications.

• Full-Stack Data Engineering: Analyse, cleanse, and normalise complex time-series data and dynamical systems.

• Production Deployment: Integrate and deploy software/models into leading cloud environments using modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Agile Collaboration: Work within an Agile methodology, ensuring high proficiency in data structures and algorithm design.

Technical Requirements & Skills

To succeed in this role, you must hold active SC Clearance and possess a blend of the following engineering and data science capabilities:

• Core Programming: Strong software development experience across Python, JavaScript, and Java.

• Frontend Frameworks: Hands-on experience with modern JS frameworks (React, Redux, Vue, Angular, or Backbone).

• Cloud Platforms: Proven track record of deploying software to at least one primary cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Data & Streaming: Deep understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, alongside scalable ML frameworks (MapReduce, data streaming).

• Methodologies: Solid proficiency with Git version control and Agile software development delivery.

• Domain Exposure: Prior experience or domain expertise in secure/industrial sectors (eg, Aerospace, Financial Services, Gov/Public Sector, Defence, Power & Utilities, or Supply Chain).

• Portfolio: A demonstrable portfolio of projects (GitHub, technical papers, etc.) is highly advantageous.
