Summary: The role of Data Migration Engineer involves leading the migration of user data within a secure environment, specifically transitioning from Windows Server 2003 to 2016. The position requires active SC clearance and entails producing technical documentation and supporting large-scale data migrations. The engineer will also be responsible for toolset integration and server configuration. This is a contract position based in Corsham, requiring on-site presence two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration of user data from Windows Server 2003 to 2016, including DFS implementation
- Support large-scale secure data migrations across Legacy Wintel environments
- Migrate data into secure platforms such as EMC Documentum
- Produce clear technical documentation and migration runbooks for engineering teams
- Author migration runbooks & implementation docs
- Toolset integration, validation server config, antivirus deployment (Sophos/McAfee)
Key Skills:
- Experience with data migration processes and tools
- Proficiency in Windows Server environments, specifically 2003 and 2016
- Knowledge of DFS implementation
- Familiarity with secure data platforms like EMC Documentum
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Experience with antivirus deployment and server configuration
Salary (Rate): £700 per day
