Summary: The role of Data Migration Engineer involves leading the migration of user data from Windows Server 2003 to 2016 within a secure environment. The position requires active SC clearance and entails supporting large-scale secure data migrations across legacy Wintel environments. The engineer will also be responsible for producing technical documentation and migration runbooks for engineering teams. This is a contract position based in Corsham, requiring on-site presence two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration of user data from Windows Server 2003 to 2016, including DFS implementation
- Support large-scale secure data migrations across legacy Wintel environments
- Migrate data into secure platforms such as EMC Documentum
- Produce clear technical documentation and migration runbooks for engineering teams
- Author migration runbooks & implementation docs
- Toolset integration, validation server config, antivirus deployment (Sophos/McAfee)
Key Skills:
- Experience with data migration from Windows Server 2003 to 2016
