Overview

An experienced Business Analyst is required to support a strategic data protection initiative within a major government technology services programme.

Working closely with Data and Analytics teams and key stakeholders across the organisation, you will help establish the current state of data movement protection and support the expansion of enterprise-wide data security capabilities.

The role will focus on Discovery and Alpha phase activities, with responsibility for requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, business process improvement and supporting the implementation of data protection controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst with strong Microsoft Purview experience to contribute to a high-profile data security programme.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven Business Analyst experience delivering data-focused, security or technology transformation programmes.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation skills.
  • Experience supporting business improvement and process analysis initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
  • Hands-on delivery experience with Microsoft 365 technologies, including Purview Information Protection, Exchange Online Email, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Experience working on data protection, data governance or data security programmes.
  • Active SC Clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a large Civil Service or public sector organisation.
  • Knowledge of protecting data at rest and in transit across enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting Discovery and Alpha phase delivery within complex transformation programmes.

Key Deliverables

  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams and wider stakeholders to establish the current state of data movement protection.
  • Elicit, analyse and define business and technical requirements relating to data security and information protection.
  • Support Discovery and Alpha activities across the programme lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data protection controls, including protection of data at rest and in transit.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, engagement sessions and requirements gathering activities.
  • Produce clear business analysis artefacts and recommendations to support delivery decisions.
  • Support the rollout and adoption of enterprise data protection capabilities across the organisation.
