Summary: The Satellite Systems Test Engineer role involves working on complex satellite and space projects, focusing on the preparation and execution of test procedures and sequences. The engineer will provide first-line support during testing, prepare technical reports, and contribute to non-conformance reviews. SC Clearance is required for this position, which is based in Stevenage and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpretation of electrical and functional test requirements from test specifications.
- Provide test solutions from planning through execution, including test sequence coding and procedure preparation.
- Provide first-line support to the test operations team during spacecraft tests.
- Close out tests with Post Test Review and Test Report.
- Provide technical inputs to project test reviews.
- Develop and debug Automatic Test procedures using bespoke software languages.
- Prepare and execute spacecraft system investigations based on Non-Conformance Review Board actions.
- Support functional and performance tests during environmental testing.
Key Skills:
- Proven ability to write test sequences/scripts for spacecraft tests.
- Working knowledge of TMTC Databases.
- Able to prepare test procedures and sequences from specifications.
- Desirable technical knowledge of spacecraft systems.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages, particularly Linux/Unix bash scripts.
- Knowledge of Electrical/Spacecraft Systems fault investigation.
- Familiarity with environmental and launch test campaigns.
- Knowledge of system testing & Verification.
