Summary: The SAS Viya QA Engineer role involves supporting testing activities for SAS Viya platform implementations, focusing on hands-on testing, automation, and data validation. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute functional, integration, and data validation tests for SAS Viya applications
- Validate SAS components including:
- SAS Studio
- CAS (Cloud Analytic Services)
- Visual Analytics
- Model Manager
- Test data ingestion, transformation workflows, and reporting outputs
- Support validation of analytical models and scoring pipelines
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts (UI, API, and data validation)
- Use tools such as:
- Selenium/Playwright (UI automation)
- Postman/Rest Assured (API testing)
- SQL/Python for Back End validation
- Perform data integrity checks across SAS datasets and external systems
- Validate business logic, transformations, and aggregations
- Support performance and scalability testing for SAS Viya workloads
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with developers and data engineers to resolve issues
- Support test execution and reporting within Agile teams
- Hands-on experience with SAS Viya (3.x/4.x)
Key Skills:
- Base SAS, PROC SQL
- Data processing and transformation workflows
- Strong SQL and data validation skills
- Experience with API testing and automation tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
