Summary: The SAP Technical Project Manager will oversee the full project life cycle for transitioning the SAP estate from an on-premise environment to Azure Cloud, specifically Azure hyperscalar. This role requires managing complex projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements, and delivering on time and within budget. The position demands strong stakeholder management and technical SAP knowledge, along with adherence to governance and quality assurance standards. The role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence in Bradford 2-3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for day-to-day delivery, management, co-ordination, and control of assigned projects, including development of the Project Definition Document (PDD), including scope, goals, and deliverables, with support of business owners.
- Scoping, creating, and managing Project Management Plans (PMP)
- Leading all resources assigned to the project, setting clear objectives, and managing performance on a project basis.
- Providing updates on project performance to project boards and key stakeholder groups as appropriate.
- Accountable for accurate forecasting and reporting of key project information, updating any agreed project management reports and documentation (eg, project status reports against time, cost, quality, benefits and risks; financial expenditure summaries, RAID logs; submitting change requests) and feeding into the programme level reports and boards.
- Adhering to the agreed business quality assurance standards.
- Ensuring that robust financial management and commercial awareness form the foundation of all project decisions.
Key Skills:
- The Technical Project Manager must be a strong influential manager of stakeholders and be able to create excellent working relationships with contract partners and supply chain, to assist successful project delivery.
- Proven experience of delivering SAP projects specifically of moving the SAP estate from on-premise to Azure Cloud (specifically Azure hyperscalar).
- Strong technical SAP functional knowledge/experience and strong demonstrable experience.
- A good understanding of SAP best practice for infrastructure is a must as well as a strong and confident delivery experience.
- Proven experience of working in a regulated environment with strong governance.
- Experience of scoping, creating, and managing Project Management Plans (PMP).
- Excellent budget management experience including accurate forecasting and reporting of key project information, updating any agreed project management reports and documentation (eg, project status reports against time, cost, quality, benefits and risks; financial expenditure summaries, RAID logs; submitting change requests) and feeding into the programme level reports and boards.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the business.
- You will be a leader, confident and assertive, whilst maintaining a can-do attitude to problem solving and directing the wider project resources.
- Fully experienced in project delivery including leading the project team, driving contractor performance, and ensuring the right outcomes are delivered to the end user.
- The ability to deal with challenges and continuously strive for best practice performance.

My client, a well-known organisation, needs a SAP Technical Project Manager to undertake the full project life cycle of a variety of projects around moving the SAPe estate from an on-premise environment to an Azure Cloud (specifically Azure hyperscalar).
They will be responsible for successfully delivering complex projects, or simple sub-projects of work in line with business cases. As the SAP Technical Project Manager you will have key accountability for the successful management and delivery of the projects under your control, to deliver to the business requirements including time, cost, quality, governance controls, health and safety and environmental legislation. You will ensure that project risks, issues and dependencies are managed in line with business targets and that any opportunities are realised to improve project performance.
