SAP S/4HANA In-Direct Tax Functional Consultant
Whitehall Resources require a SAP S/4HANA In-Direct Tax Functional Consultant to work with a key client on an initial 3 month contract.
*This role will require on site work in Luton 3 times per week.
*Outside IR35.
Typical Accountabilities
- Lead the IT solution that underpins the global standard process design for Tax capability / lead area including any integrations.
- Accountable for matching the system design, adopting best practice, to the business capability requirements in Tax domain.
- Work closely with the business process teams in the process design to ensure alignment with S/4HANA best practice and SAP standard functionality.
- Able to represent Tax process domain on senior internal and external forums as required and support setting the strategic direction contributing any solution/technology opportunities.
- Support the data team to ensure successful definition / migration / creation of data objects that support the global design across the application landscape.
- Ensure effective prioritisation of activities in line with the overall deployment strategy and project imperatives in alignment with Business Technology Group portfolios and BAU services.
- Accountable for the alignment of existing and new IT projects with the overall solution design in Tax domain/capability area within the programme
- Work with the Architecture teams to ensure that the solution and data design align with the strategic view for IT applications.
- Work with the Non-SAP systems and Integration teams to ensure effective delivery of integration requirements across the IT landscape, internal and external.
- Ensure latest industry and SAP functionalities are proactively considered within Tax capability and the wider program, actively supporting the IT enterprise business partner in R2R domain area.
- Work in partnership with programme partners to document and test the solution design in accordance with compliance standards.
- Report on status of activity to plan and manage RAID items in your area, rolling up to the Enterprise domain.
- Champion the design for Tax capability through the appropriate governance forums
- Represent IT as an SME and leader at respective program and business data forums
Education, Qualifications, and Experience
Essential:
Strong understanding of the indirect tax business process in pharmaceutical settings and tax touch points in E2E supply chain
In depth knowledge of SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) and EDICOM
Good understanding digital compliance regulations like e-invoice, e-reporting
Analysis and interpretation of indirect tax (VAT,GST etc) requirements for domestic, free trade zones, exports and imports
Good understanding of various SAP data elements/data points to drive the right tax treatment from external engine
Recognised SME in SAP and associated technologies and functionalities with a proven track record of delivering complex designs for a large business transformation project.
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver IT change across multiple locations globally and/or Business Functions including ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language.
Good stakeholder management and communication skills with Business and IT areas with a demonstrated capability to influence key partner groups.
Strong team player able to work across the program team and communicate in business and IT terms.
Desirable
Certification in Tax with SAP S/4HANA
Knowledge of SAP Document and reporting compliance and Global Trade Service
Worked in a hybrid environment with a mix of internal and external resources in multiple geographical locations.
S/4HANA implementations for complex global organisations from Design to completion of Deployment
Knowledge of SAP S/4 landscape and Global Tax Engine concepts
