Summary: The SAP S/4HANA Data Migration Lead is responsible for defining and delivering the end-to-end data migration strategy for a major SAP transformation programme. This role involves establishing governance, tooling, and execution plans while leading multiple workstreams to ensure accurate and secure data migration. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to meet programme timelines. Extensive experience in SAP data migration, particularly within SAP S/4HANA transformations, is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the overall SAP data migration strategy for the programme.
  • Establish governance, standards, and best practices for data migration activities.
  • Define migration scope, data objects, quality standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple data migration workstreams across functional and technical teams.
  • Ensure alignment between business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, and data specialists.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and ensure successful delivery against programme milestones.
  • Oversee the design and development of data migration frameworks, tools, and processes.
  • Manage the build of any required migration components such as data extraction and transformation pipelines.
  • Ensure appropriate testing phases are executed (unit testing, mock migrations, cutover rehearsals).
  • Manage the selection, onboarding, and oversight of third-party vendors supporting the migration effort.
  • Coordinate with implementation partners, SAP consultants, and internal engineering teams.
  • Provide clear communication and reporting to programme leadership and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong data governance and data quality frameworks are implemented.
  • Define reconciliation and validation processes to guarantee data integrity post-migration.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience leading SAP data migration programmes (ideally within SAP S/4HANA transformations).
  • Proven track record in defining and executing enterprise-scale migration strategies.
  • Experience leading multi-workstream delivery teams in complex SAP programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP data migration tools such as SAP Migration Cockpit, LTMOM, SAP Data Services, and ETL/data integration tools.

Role Overview
