SAP S/4 RISE Architect/Selective Data Transmission. Superb London based client have a long-term, Onsite role, Inside IR35 for an experienced SAP S/4 RISE Architect/Selective Data Transmission.
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Transformation Architect to lead a major enterprise transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud under RISE with SAP, using a Selective Data Transition (SDT/Bluefield) approach.
This is a senior architecture leadership role responsible for defining the transformation strategy, target architecture, Clean Core approach, migration strategy, governance model and subsequent global rollout across multiple legal entities and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture for an SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation using Selective Data Transition.
- Define the transformation roadmap, including global template, transition waves, rollout sequencing and deployment strategy.
- Establish the target architecture aligned to SAP Best Practices and Clean Core principles.
- Provide architecture governance across functional, technical, integration, data and reporting workstreams.
- Define the business-led data migration strategy, covering historical data, open transactions, master data, legal retention and reporting continuity.
- Lead SDT design workshops and assess migration tooling and technical approaches.
- Govern trial migrations, reconciliation, cutover architecture and migration readiness.
- Own the architecture and delivery strategy within the RISE with SAP landscape.
- Define SAP BTP adoption and side-by-side extension strategies.
- Establish cloud operating model, landscape/environment strategy, security and transport governance.
- Drive Fit-to-Standard adoption and establish Clean Core governance and architecture guardrails.
- Review existing custom developments and define remediation strategies, leveraging BTP extensions, APIs, event-driven integration, key-user extensibility and Fiori-first principles.
- Define and govern the transformation toolchain, including LeanIX, SAP Cloud ALM, Signavio, SAP Readiness Check, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Migration Cockpit, SNP CrystalBridge, DMO/SUM and Tricentis.
- Establish architecture standards, quality gates and deployment governance.
- Define the methodology for subsequent country and business-entity rollouts.
- Lead template fit-gap assessments and govern localisation, regulatory and country-specific requirements.
- Maintain architecture alignment across multiple deployment waves.
- Engage with SAP, hyperscaler and senior business/technology stakeholders on strategic architecture decisions.
Mandatory Experience
- 15+ years' SAP consulting and architecture experience.
- Minimum 2 completed end-to-end SAP S/4HANA RISE implementations as Lead Architect.
- At least 1 completed ECC to S/4HANA Selective Data Transition (Bluefield/SDT) implementation.
- Proven experience leading large-scale global SAP transformation programmes across multiple countries and legal entities.
- Strong expertise in: SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, RISE with SAP, SAP BTP, Clean Core Architecture, Enterprise Architecture & Integration Design, SAP Solution Architecture, Technology Governance.
- Proven experience defining global templates and subsequent rollout strategies.
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration methodologies.
- Excellent executive stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience leading architecture teams across onshore/offshore delivery models.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within Manufacturing, Chemicals, Automotive, Packaging or Industrial environments.
- Experience with carve-outs, M&A, business consolidations or complex organisational transformations.
- Knowledge of SAP FICO and core SAP modules.
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Knowledge of SAP AI, Joule and Intelligent Business Processes.
- Experience working with global enterprise operating models and complex regulatory/localisation requirements.
