Summary: The role of Interim SAP PS Lead involves leading the functional design and architecture decisions for SAP Project Systems within a major transformation initiative for National Gas. The consultant will work closely with business and IT stakeholders, providing hands-on expertise while overseeing third-party partner teams. This position is hybrid, requiring two days on-site in Solihull per week, and is classified as inside IR35. The contract is initially for six months with a likely extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead SAP PS functional design, architecture decisions and post-restructure system alignment
- Oversee WBS, budgeting, forecasting, project planning, and cost control functions in SAP
- Advise on CATS integration and related time recording processes
- Work closely with partner resources and internal stakeholders on delivery coordination
- Align SAP PS configuration and reporting to business objectives and transformation goals
- Contribute to roadmap planning and change impact analysis
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in SAP Project Systems across large-scale programmes
- Exposure to CATS integration (nice to have)
- Experience working within utilities, energy, or other regulated infrastructure sectors
- Cross-functional understanding of SAP (FICO, MM, PM, SD)
- SAP S/4HANA transformation or upgrade experience preferred
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partner/vendor management skills
