Summary: The SAP Project Manager will be responsible for leading the upgrade readiness programme for an SAP S/4HANA landscape, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of specific workstreams. This role focuses on planning, coordination, and execution of key remediation activities without design or architecture responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with a permanent Project Manager and various stakeholders to maintain programme pace and transparency. Strong delivery management skills are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver allocated workstreams within the S/4HANA upgrade readiness programme, ensuring clear outcomes, timelines, and governance
- Build, maintain, and manage integrated delivery plans (workstream plans, milestones, RAID, dependencies)
- Drive day-to-day delivery cadence: stand-ups, workstream sessions, actions tracking, and progress management
- Coordinate system integrators, SAP/RISE parties, and internal teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Establish and manage robust reporting (status, milestones, critical path, blockers, finance/burn where applicable)
- Proactively manage RAID: risks, assumptions, issues, decisions, and actions — escalating early with clear options
- Manage cross-workstream dependencies and sequence activities to protect the critical path
- Ensure test approach readiness, including mobilisation and governance of test automation setup
- Lead delivery planning and execution for BW to Datasphere migration, coordinating technical and business stakeholders
- Drive business process simplification and pre-upgrade remediation across RTR, OTC, ITM and FSM, ensuring actions are owned and delivered
- Coordinate and manage the SAP Standard and Fiori review linked to remediation, tracking decisions and delivery impacts
- Lead the IS-U remediation workstream end-to-end: analysis, planning, execution, and implementation activities as part of the upgrade
- Maintain programme pace and transparency, keeping stakeholders aligned on progress, risks, and next steps
Key Skills:
- Experience in SAP Project Management, specifically with S/4HANA
- Strong planning and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and dependencies
- Proficient in risk management and reporting

We are searching for an experienced SAP Project Manager to play a vital role in delivering a focused programme of work to assess and prepare an SAP S/4HANA landscape for upgrade to the latest release. Our client implemented S/4HANA around a year ago and the solution is now behind the current version; this contract will drive the work required to ensure upgrade readiness and execute key remediation activities. This is a delivery-first role working alongside a permanent Project Manager within an S/4HANA and SAP RISE programme. Your remit is clear: own specific workstreams and drive them through to completion. There is no design or architecture responsibility — success is measured through strong planning, coordination, control, and delivery pace.
