Summary: The Programme Manager role involves leading a large-scale ERP transformation programme, specifically the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA for a global digital business. This position requires coordination across various internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery through the SAP RISE lifecycle. The role emphasizes governance, risk management, and adherence to industry best practices throughout the migration process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of an SAP S/4HANA RISE migration programme, guiding the organisation through the Prepare, Explore, Realise and Deploy phases through to go-live.
- Act as the central point of coordination across internal business units, product and engineering teams, external implementation partners and the ERP vendor to ensure alignment on delivery milestones and outcomes.
- Ensure the timely delivery of critical programme outputs including programme charter, key design decisions, enterprise structure definitions and change management planning.
- Maintain and actively manage the programme RAID log, addressing risks associated with legacy system decoupling, shared infrastructure and interim architecture.
- Support leadership forums and architecture boards by providing clear data and insights to drive key design and implementation decisions.
- Develop and maintain a realistic multi-year roadmap, tracking delivery progress through clear metrics, outcomes and delivery indicators.
- Implement effective programme governance including decision forums, reporting cadences and stakeholder communication frameworks.
- Ensure the migration follows industry best practices and clean core principles to minimise unnecessary customisation and support long-term scalability.
- Work closely with delivery teams to optimise programme flow, improve predictability and reduce delivery risk through data-driven insights and retrospectives.
Key Skills:
- Strong programme or project management experience.
- 5+ years leading large-scale ERP or SAP transformation programmes end-to-end.
- Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA migrations or complex ERP modernisation programmes.
- Experience managing external implementation partners and technology vendors.
- Experience delivering programmes across multiple phases such as discovery, design, build and deployment.
- Experience working with finance processes such as Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Tax or Treasury.
