Summary: The SAP Payroll Transformation Lead will oversee the initiation phase of a significant payroll transformation project, transitioning from SAP ECC6 Payroll to SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP). The role requires extensive payroll expertise, migration experience, and strong governance skills in a complex, multi-supplier environment. The candidate will engage with various stakeholders and ensure compliance with payroll regulations throughout the migration process. BPSS clearance is required for this hybrid position based in Preston.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the initiation and mobilisation of the ECC6 to ECP payroll transformation project.
- Conduct discovery, scoping, and readiness assessments for the migration.
- Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms.
- Engage stakeholders across HR, IT, Payroll, and external implementation partners.
- Oversee and challenge design decisions to ensure alignment with payroll best practices and programme objectives.
- Coordinate with multiple suppliers and ensure all parties adhere to robust governance, controls, quality gates, and reporting standards.
- Support data readiness activities, including ECC6 payroll data extraction, cleansing, and migration planning.
- Provide expert input into cutover planning, testing strategy, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory payroll requirements throughout the migration.

- Proven experience delivering SAP Payroll transformation or migration projects, specifically ECC6 to Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
- Hands-on expertise with both SAP ECC6 Payroll and SAP ECP.
- Strong understanding of payroll schemas, rules, configuration, and end-to-end payroll processes.
- Demonstrable experience working in a multi-supplier delivery environment with strong governance structures.
