Role Summary
The IBP Environment Management professional is responsible for the administration, governance, maintenance,
and continuous improvement of SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) environments across Development,
Test, QA, Pre-Production, and Production landscapes. The role ensures environment stability, transport
management, release coordination, compliance, security, and operational excellence.
Environment Management:
- Manage SAP IBP environments throughout the application lifecycle.
- Maintain Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Monitor system health, availability, performance, and capacity utilization.
- Coordinate environment refreshes, copies, and tenant management activities.
Release & Transport Management:
- Plan and execute configuration and code transports across environments.
- Coordinate release schedules with project teams and business stakeholders.
- Validate transport dependencies and ensure successful deployment.
- Support change management and release governance processes.
Incident & Problem Management:
- Troubleshoot environment-related issues and coordinate resolution.
- Perform root-cause analysis for recurring incidents.
- Track and manage service requests, incidents, and problem tickets.
- Work closely with SAP support and infrastructure teams.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
- Coordinate user access reviews and environment authorization controls.
- Support audit activities and maintain operational documentation.
- Implement environment governance and risk controls.
Monitoring & Automation:
- Establish proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Identify opportunities for automating operational tasks.
- Develop and maintain environment health dashboards and reports.
- Optimize deployment and environment management processes.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with business, functional, technical, and infrastructure teams.
- Coordinate with SAP and third-party vendors during upgrades and issue resolution.
- Provide regular environment status and risk updates to leadership.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning).
- Experience with SAP landscape and transport management.
- Understanding of SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Operations, and integration technologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Release Management).
- Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and audit requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of SAP application/environment management experience.
- Experience with SAP IBP implementations and support projects preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification is desirable.
