Summary: The SAP Functional Consultant role focuses on supporting a UK-based distribution business in integrating a new Transportation Management System (TMS) with SAP ECC6 WM. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing existing setups, defining functional specifications, and facilitating the transition from custom code to standard processes. This hands-on position requires collaboration with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and documenting the current SAP WM and custom TMS setup
- Defining functional specs for SAP WM–TMS interfaces
- Supporting the removal of custom code and transition to standard TMS processes
- Designing and improving WM processes in line with best practice
- Working closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solutions
- Supporting testing, UAT, cutover and post go-live activity
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as an SAP Functional Consultant across WM and Logistics
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP ECC6 WM configuration and processes
- Experience delivering integrations between SAP and external systems
- Exposure to TMS implementations or integrations
- Knowledge of SAP FICO is desirable
- Experience in custom code remediation and standardisation

SAP Functional Consultant – SAP WM & Logistics (Interim)
HW Interim Solutions are working with a UK-based distribution business going through a key systems transformation. They are looking for an experienced SAP Functional Consultant with strong SAP WM and Logistics expertise to support the integration of a new best-of-breed Transportation Management System (TMS).
The role
You’ll play a hands-on role in shaping and delivering the integration between SAP ECC6 WM and the new TMS, helping the business move away from legacy custom code and towards more standard, scalable solutions.
What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing and documenting the current SAP WM and custom TMS setup
- Defining functional specs for SAP WM–TMS interfaces
- Supporting the removal of custom code and transition to standard TMS processes
- Designing and improving WM processes in line with best practice
- Working closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solutions

Proven experience as an SAP Functional Consultant across WM and Logistics
Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP ECC6 WM configuration and processes
Experience delivering integrations between SAP and external systems
Exposure to TMS implementations or integrations
Knowledge of SAP FICO is desirable, along with experience in custom code remediation and standardisation.
