SAP Data Migration Lead

Scope of the role:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead / Test & Release Manager to join a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme for a leading retailer. This role will lead data migration, testing, quality assurance, and release management activities to support the successful migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA and delivery of a planned go-live in November 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the overall data migration strategy for SAP ECC decommissioning and S/4HANA implementation.
• Accelerate data readiness and quality through modern data migration tools, automation, and best-practice governance.
• Develop and own the end-to-end test strategy across SIT, UAT, regression, performance, and cutover testing.
• Drive test automation and AI adoption to improve testing efficiency and quality.
• Lead QA activities across build, test, and deployment phases.
• Manage release planning, deployment governance, and cutover readiness.
• Build and establish a sustainable testing and quality capability across the programme.
• Work closely with business, technology, and delivery partners to ensure successful programme outcomes.

Required Experience

• Proven experience leading SAP S/4HANA migration programmes.
• Strong SAP data migration leadership experience.
• Extensive Test Management and Release Management expertise within SAP transformations.
• Retail sector experience is essential.
• Experience implementing test automation and AI-enabled testing solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.
• Desirable
• SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services, Syniti, Informatica, or similar tools.
• Tricentis Tosca, Worksoft, or other test automation platforms.
• SAP Activate and Agile delivery experience.
