Summary: The SAP Basis Consultant role requires a professional with security clearance to analyze system performance, implement improvements, and provide installation and troubleshooting support for SAP systems. The consultant will work in a mixed server environment and collaborate with various teams to ensure optimal SAP platform performance. Responsibilities also include participating in an on-call rotation for off-hour support and interfacing with cross-functional technical teams. Strong knowledge of SAP Basis and security, along with experience in technical integrations, is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze system logs and performance metrics; recommend and implement improvements.
- Modify SAP system parameters to enhance performance.
- Support Process Orchestration interfaces to non-SAP systems and third-party tools.
- Participate in on-call rotation for off-hour support.
- Provide installation and troubleshooting support for SAP installation and upgrade projects.
- Work in a mixed server environment covering Linux, Unix, and Wintel servers.
- Collaborate with SAP Functional teams and management on projects and enhancements.
- Interface with cross-functional technical teams and provide guidance for SAP platform.
- Provide technical guidance for large-scale domestic and international projects.
- Liaise with multiple SAP Functional teams and third-party vendors.
Key Skills:
- Ability to configure tools in Solution Manager including Diagnostics and System Monitoring.
- Previous functional or technical SAP background preferred.
- Experience implementing technical integrations of global third-party applications with SAP.
- Strong working relationships with SAP Application owners and IT Infrastructure teams.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain, Planning, and/or Distribution beneficial.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP Basis and Security.

Responsibilities for SAP Basis Consultant
- Analyze system logs, performance metrics and recommend/implement improvements, , modify SAP system parameters to improve system performance
- Support Process Orchestration interfaces to non-SAP systems and to 3rd party tools used in the SAP environment
- Furthermore, the SAP BASIS consultant may have to participate to the « on call » rotation in order to perform the Off hour support (outside of 8am-5pm)
- Provide installation and troubleshooting support for several SAP installation and upgrade projects
- Work in a mixed server environment covering Linux, Unix and Wintel servers using Oracle, DB2, SAP DB, and SQL Server databases
- Work collaboratively with the SAP Functional teams from the business and regional support hubs (local IT team) and management team on projects, issues and enhancements
- Interface with cross functional technical teams (Infrastructure and database teams) and business unit IT staff while providing guidance for SAP platform with regard to patching, monitoring, capacity planning
- Provide technical guidance for large-scale domestic and international projects including application installation and tuning, planning and installing patches in test and production environments
- Liaise with, Multiple SAP Functional teams Infrastructure (OS and DB Team) and third party vendors and contractors
Qualifications for SAP basis consultant
- Ability to configure various tools and features in Solution Manager including Diagnostics, EWA, Interactive Reporting, and System Monitoring
- Previous functional or technical SAP background preferred
- Experience implementing technical integrations of global 3rd party applications (like VERTEX, RIGHTFAX and other applications as needed) with SAP
- Ability to maintain strong and effective working relationships with SAP Application owners, IT Infrastructure team and OS/Network Team
- Supply Chain, Planning, and/or Distribution beneficial
- SAP Basis and /or SAP Security – Strong Knowledge and Hands on experience of Technical Planning , Installations, Upgrades, Maintenance
