Summary: The Salesforce Technical Architect role is a contract position focused on leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions within a complex transformation programme. The architect will be responsible for shaping scalable and secure architectures while guiding delivery teams and ensuring robust integration across enterprise systems. This position requires extensive experience in Salesforce architecture and a strong ability to influence stakeholders. The role is based in the West Midlands, UK, and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of Salesforce programmes, including integrations, data, and security
- Design scalable, high-performance solutions across the Salesforce ecosystem
- Lead architecture decisions across: Data migration and data quality, System integrations and APIs, Third-party applications and AppExchange products, Custom development (Apex, Lightning, etc.)
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing strategic and technical guidance
- Lead and mentor development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
- Drive solution design, governance, and quality assurance across delivery
- Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and business stakeholders
- Identify risks and proactively manage complex technical challenges
- Contribute to pre-sales activities, including discovery sessions and proof-of-concepts
- Engage with product teams and vendors to support solution delivery
Key Skills:
- 12+ years of enterprise architecture experience, including 10+ years on Salesforce platform
- Proven experience delivering large-scale Salesforce implementations in a Technical Architect role
- Strong expertise in: Salesforce architecture (Sales, Service, Platform), Integration patterns (APIs, middleware, web services), Data modelling and migration strategies, Security and governance frameworks
- Strong development background: Apex, Lightning Components
- Familiarity with Java / .NET or similar technologies
- Deep understanding of Salesforce capabilities and limitations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive architectural decisions
