Summary: The Salesforce DevOps Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing DevOps and release management processes within the Salesforce ecosystem, particularly using Copado or similar CI/CD tools. The position requires strong experience in managing Salesforce environments and automating deployment processes. The engineer will also provide mentorship and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall platform reliability. This is a contract position with a focus on driving automation and release efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver the Salesforce DevOps strategy, driving automation and release efficiency
  • Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Copado and Git-based version control (e.g. GitHub)
  • Manage multiple Salesforce environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Production), ensuring consistency across deployments
  • Define and maintain release governance, including quality gates, code reviews, and security checks
  • Automate metadata deployments, testing, and post-release validation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and environment issues
  • Establish best practices for branching strategies, version control, and rollback processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with broader SDLC and platform standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to developers on DevOps best practices
  • Contribute to improving observability, monitoring, and platform reliability

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years' experience in Salesforce DevOps / Release Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Copado (or similar CI/CD tools in Salesforce)
  • Proven track record building CI/CD pipelines from scratch
  • Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of Git-based version control (e.g. GitHub)
  • Branching strategies (e.g. GitFlow)
  • Salesforce metadata management & deployments
  • Experience with SFDX / CLI tooling
  • Apex testing and code coverage
  • Code quality / scanning tools (e.g. Sonar)
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
  • Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of Salesforce testing frameworks and automation
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. Copado, Salesforce Architect)
