Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a role model to reinforce a safety-first workplace culture.
- Participate in investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents.
- Collect and summarize specific risks and implement plans to avoid them.
- Review and assess the impact of critical risks and monitor controls.
- Manage safety systems and assess team members' fitness for duty.
- Engage in physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching.
- Create safety reports and analyze available data.
- Facilitate continual safety checks to meet requirements.
- Support site visits to ensure adherence to safety systems.
- Develop procedures for the new Safety Management System (SMS).

Key Skills:
- HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) expertise.

- Excellent communication skills for team engagement and reporting.
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety certification is advantageous.
- Experience in safety advisory roles within the mining or heavy industry.

Role Overview

Participate in investigations into accidents and high potential near-miss incidents. Collect and summarize specific risks within the working area and implement plans to avoid these risks. Review and assess the impact of critical risks, and monitor the effectiveness of critical controls. Manage safety systems within the work area, including assessing team members' fitness for duty. Engage in physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching. Create safety reports and manage analysis of available data. Facilitate continual safety checks to ensure all safety requirements are met. Support site visits by internal and external visitors to ensure adherence to site safety systems. Support the development of procedures for the new Safety Management System (SMS). Implement and maintain a Safety Monitoring Plan aligned with Crop Nutrients Safety Management System. Monitor compliance and identify opportunities to improve safety performance. Conduct site inspections to identify and escalate non-compliance. Investigate incidents within the work area, establish root causes, and implement learnings.
Skills & Qualifications
