The role sits within a product-aligned engineering team responsible for mortgage origination and servicing systems. The environment is moving from Legacy towards modern cloud, SaaS/PaaS and DevOps-driven delivery, with a clear push towards autonomy, ownership and engineering standards.

What you will do

  • Design, build and operate features across a Ruby on Rails-based mortgage platform (RoR, MySQL, JavaScript)
  • Own delivery end-to-end: development, testing, deployment and production support
  • Work in a product team alongside Product Owner and Engineering Manager, shaping how solutions are built
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation across environments
  • Drive improvements in reliability, scalability and engineering practices
  • Support security, monitoring, troubleshooting and risk controls in a regulated environment

  • Strong Ruby on Rails experience building applications and APIs
  • Solid SQL/relational database experience (schema design, performance, querying)
  • End-to-end engineering mindset (build + run, not just dev)
  • Experience working in agile, DevOps-led environments with CI/CD
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Ability to operate in a structured, regulated environment

Nice to have

  • React or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Docker/Kubernetes exposure
  • Financial services or mortgage platform experience

Package

  • Competitive base + bonus
