Summary: The Rotating Equipment Specialist will oversee the design and technical reviews of pumps, compressors, and turbines for offshore topsides projects. This senior role involves leading equipment specifications, vendor reviews, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The individual will also provide training and act as a senior advisor to the team. The position is part-time and classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and review rotating equipment design packages.
- Interface with vendors to ensure technical compliance.
- Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and FATs.
- Support integration of rotating equipment into topside facilities.
- Training junior staff.
Key Skills:
- BEng in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 7+ years’ experience in oil & gas topsides or offshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of API standards.
- Skilled in equipment selection, design verification, and troubleshooting.
- Offshore commissioning experience (preferred).
- Chartered Engineer status (or working toward it) (preferred).
