Summary: The Rolling Stock Engineer - Bogie Systems role at Rullion focuses on providing expert engineering support for railway bogies and underframe equipment, enhancing safety, reliability, and efficiency. This office-based position involves investigating engineering issues, leading safety-related defect investigations, and developing maintenance optimization strategies. The role requires collaboration with key suppliers and adherence to safety and performance standards. It is a temporary position for six months, classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve engineering issues across multiple train fleets.
  • Lead investigations into safety-related defects and technical incidents.
  • Develop modifications and maintenance optimization strategies.
  • Support component overhaul, re-engineering, and repair processes.
  • Produce engineering specifications, risk assessments, and business cases.
  • Conduct on-site engineering support for key suppliers.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and performance standards are met.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in rolling stock maintenance, planning, and IT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of railway bogies and rolling stock maintenance techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in rail vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and IT skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) preferred.
  • Experience in reverse engineering and component analysis preferred.
