Summary: The Robotics MLOps & Data Engineer role involves building and operating production-grade MLOps and data infrastructure to support robotics R&D teams in training and deploying machine learning solutions. The position requires designing scalable data and ML pipelines, defining standards for data management, and promoting best practices in CI/CD and testing. Collaboration with R&D teams is essential to translate requirements into robust infrastructure. The contract is for 6 months with a requirement for on-site work in Zürich three days a week, starting ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and operate production-grade MLOps and data infrastructure enabling robotics R&D teams to train and deploy ML solutions at scale
- Design scalable data and ML pipelines for real-world and simulated robotics data
- Define standards for data ingestion, management, sharing, and ML lifecycle tooling
- Enable adoption across teams through pipeline templates, documentation, and hands-on support
- Promote best practices around CI/CD, versioning, testing, and reproducibility
- Collaborate closely with R&D teams to translate requirements into robust infrastructure
Key Skills:
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science or similar, with a strong ML focus
- Strong experience building and running production MLOps and data platforms
- Solid hands-on skills in Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), and tools like MLflow
- Experience with cloud, hybrid, or on-prem environments (Azure is a plus)
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC (Terraform)
- Robotics ML, deployment to hardware, and familiarity with ROS2 / Omniverse are a plus
- Strong communication skills, autonomous working style, and an agile mindset
- Fluent in English; basic German is a plus
