Summary: The Risk Underwriter Administrator role is a 6-month contract position within a leading financial services provider specializing in vendor and equipment finance. The position involves supporting risk-related administrative activities and assisting the Risk team with underwriting and compliance tasks. The role requires a proactive approach to reviewing proposals and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, spending two days a week in the office in South-West London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review incoming proposals using a pre-set checklist to identify whether transactions meet the company's acceptance criteria before they are passed to the Risk Managers.
- Conduct exposure and customer name searches via internal risk systems to ensure accurate reporting.
- Investigate customer group affiliations using the global client database.
- Check clients and their Ultimate Beneficial Owners against internal watchlists for high-risk profiles or restricted activities.
- Verify the authenticity of suppliers involved in customer transactions and approve them where appropriate.
- Deliver professional, clear responses to internal queries within agreed service standards.
- Provide sound justifications when escalating Customer Due Diligence concerns to the Compliance team.
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate records in the core underwriting and customer systems.
- Assist with various administrative duties across the Risk function as required.
Key Skills:
- 1+ years of experience in a Risk Underwriting Administrative role within Financial Services sector.
- Immediately Available to start employment or have a notice period of less than 2 weeks.
- Strong verbal, written communication and organisational skills.
- Confident working with people across teams and levels with high attention of detail.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
