Risk Consultant | Gloucestershire 2-3 x per week | SC-Cleared | £600 - £700 a day Inside IR35

Due to continued success across our Defence portfolio, we are expanding our Project Controls capability for our engineering and manufacturing programmes.
As such, we are seeking a Risk Consultant to join our team, who will will oversee the identification and mitigation of risks across critical, high-value manufacturing programmes. In this role, our consultant will focus on the project controls risk function by facilitating workshops, driving risk strategy, and owning the complex risk registers that underpin complex defence manufacturing.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate risk identification workshops with engineering leads, procurement specialists, and project managers to build and maintain comprehensive programmatic risk registers.
- Partner with Project Controls teams to evaluate Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics (CPI/SPI) and correlate performance variances with known risk profiles.
- Evaluate manufacturing capacity risks.
- Maintain rigorous change control processes, assessing how proposed engineering or manufacturing modifications impact the risk profile of the baseline schedule and budget.
Required experience:
- Proven history in risk management within defence - ideally in complex manufacturing environments (submarines, ships, nuclear, air, or land)
- Advanced proficiency in scheduling and risk modelling software, specifically Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA), Safran Risk, or Deltek Acumen.
- Strong familiarity with Defence procurement structures, Project Control instructions, and Defence Standards.
Due to project sensitivities, our consultant must have active and valid SC-Level Clearance.
