Summary: The Risk & Compliance Assistant at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Risk & Compliance and the Risk & Compliance team. This role involves managing calendars, expenses, compliance records, and training sessions, while ensuring effective communication and coordination within the team. The position is a fixed-term contract for 9 months based in London, England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calendar/diary management of the Director of Risk & Compliance, arranging meetings, room bookings, liaising with internal and external attendees, restaurant bookings, scheduling travel and accommodation;
  • Expenses admin for the Director of Risk & Compliance and the Risk & Compliance team - to include collating and submitting expenses through Chrome River and liaison with Finance;
  • Managing invoice submission and processing with Finance in relation to all Risk & Compliance invoices;
  • Maintaining records of various compliance activities, taking notes where necessary, document filing (electronically) and managing the Risk & Compliance team’s i-manage folders, including careful version control;
  • Assisting with compliance reporting, data gathering and research;
  • General diary management for Risk & Compliance training, including room bookings and liaising with practice groups, individual partners and business services staff;
  • Assisting with insider lists management and communications;
  • Keeping a master schedule of all training sessions, scheduling training sessions and producing and maintaining records and registers of attendance;
  • Assisting with the preparation of policies and training materials and ensuring tools are ready for training sessions by organising IT, AV and handouts;
  • Liaising with Continuing Legal Education teams in London and New York as well as external providers of education platforms and/or software the firm may engage from time to time;
  • Acting as a main point of contact with regard to all Risk & Compliance training for offices outside of the US;
  • Monitoring Risk & Compliance inboxes and escalating queries as necessary;
  • Assisting with annual and ongoing practising certificates renewals, maintaining relevant records and liaising with the relevant stakeholders, including partners;
  • Assisting with document production and liaising with Word Processing teams as may be necessary;
  • Assisting with the organisation and administration of team events;
  • Assisting the Director of Risk & Compliance and the Risk & Compliance team with a variety of ad hoc administrative tasks as required.

Description/Job Summary
