Summary: The British Film Institute (BFI) is seeking a Rights & Contracts Coordinator to support their Rights and Contracts Department. This role involves administrative duties, rights acquisition coordination, and liaison with industry guilds and unions. The position is permanent and full-time, based in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking general administrative duties such as drafting meeting agendas, action points, correspondence, summaries, and reports.
  • Coordinating calendars, invoicing, and liaising with other BFI departments to gather and supply information.
  • Providing support and coordination throughout the rights acquisition process, keeping accurate records, and tracking contracts and delivery.
  • Recording rights information and contract terms on the distribution database, tracking documentation generated by the team.
  • Liaising with media industry guilds, unions, and performing rights societies, and coordinating payments as required.

Key Skills:

  • Previous administrative experience within a media legal, business affairs, or contract management environment.

Providing support and co-ordination throughout the rights acquisition process by keeping accurate records and always ensuring that outstanding items are pursued and tracking contracts and delivery. Recording rights information and the terms of contracts on the distribution database as needed, tracking documentation generated by the team through licensing rights, providing support to and liaison with the royalties team and processes as requested. Liaison with media industry guilds, unions, and performing rights societies, and coordination of payments thereto (such as MCPS) as required.
