Summary: HeliosX is seeking a Rewards Consultant to design and implement executive and variable compensation programs during a period of rapid growth. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to create data-driven reward strategies that align with the company's commercial goals. The position is a 6-month contract with hybrid working arrangements, requiring attendance in the Central London office twice a week. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in attracting and retaining top talent while ensuring compliance with governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and rollout of executive compensation and variable pay programmes, including global bonus and long-term incentive plans.
  • Build and maintain financial models to simulate different reward scenarios and assess impact, cost and effectiveness.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Legal, and HR to align reward programmes with wider commercial and governance goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and external regulatory frameworks across the UK, US, and other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Support bespoke equity and incentive plan design.
  • Provide benchmarking and insights to inform reward decisions for senior hires, exits and organisational design work.

Key Skills:

  • Proven track record in executive and variable compensation, either in-house or via a consulting firm.
  • Experience supporting or advising a Remuneration Committee (RemCo), ideally in a PLC or PE-backed environment.
  • Strong financial modelling skills (Excel is essential), with the ability to interpret and explain outputs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with relevant reporting and governance requirements (e.g. DRR, UK Corporate Governance Code, IFRS2).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity is the norm.
  • Strong communicator, able to translate complex reward issues into clear guidance for execs and non-reward colleagues.
  • Highly analytical, commercially savvy, and comfortable working with both strategic ambiguity and technical detail.
  • Confident working across functions and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Project-oriented and well organised, managing multiple deliverables with speed and accuracy.
  • Curious, pragmatic, and solutions-driven in approach.

About The Role HeliosX is looking for a Rewards Consultant to support the design and delivery of high-impact executive and variable compensation programmes. This role will play a key part in shaping how we attract, motivate, and retain top talent during a period of rapid growth and transformation. You’ll be working closely with stakeholders across People, Finance, Legal, and Exec leadership to deliver reward strategies that are data-driven, commercially sound and globally aligned. From building financial models to preparing Remuneration Committee materials, this is a hands-on role with high visibility and autonomy. This is a 6-month contract, with hybrid working. You’ll be expected in our Central London office twice per week, with the rest of your time spent working remotely.

What You'll Be Doing
