Reward Advisor

Join our client a large local authority as a Reward Advisor within our People Function, supporting the delivery of key reward initiatives that impact colleagues across the organisation. This role offers a blend of operational reward advisory work and involvement in high-profile, organisation-wide projects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide expert advice and support on a range of pay and reward matters, working closely with managers, employees, HR Business Partners, and stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Manage and respond to a high volume of reward and pay-related queries.
  • Support HR Business Partners with technical reward advice and policy interpretation.
  • Lead or support complex reward casework and investigations.
  • Analyse reward and pay data, producing reports and insights to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of reward policies, programmes, and projects.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage employee benefits and reward-related services.
  • Develop strong relationships across the organisation to support effective reward delivery.
  • Help communicate reward initiatives and engage employees on reward-related matters.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a Pay and Reward, Compensation & Benefits, or Reward Advisory role.
  • Strong understanding of reward principles, pay structures, and reward programmes.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with complex data, calculations, and analysis.
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability.
  • Experience interpreting policies, legislation, and reward-related data.
  • Ability to explain technical reward concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience managing employee queries and providing customer-focused support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable: Reward experience gained within Local Government or the wider Public Sector. Experience of complex pay structures, grading frameworks, and terms and conditions. Exposure to pay reviews, job evaluation, or annual pay award processes.
