Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor, reconcile, and report on income collection across Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefit overpayments.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in subsidy claims and income records to prevent financial losses.
- Work closely with internal finance teams, external auditors, and government agencies to ensure funding accuracy.
- Support the development of income collection strategies to maximise recovery and minimise arrears.
- Respond to customer and stakeholder enquiries regarding benefit subsidies, payments, and debt recovery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in revenue collection and subsidy management.
Key Skills:
- Experience in revenues, benefits, income collection, or financial reconciliation (public sector experience desirable).
- Strong understanding of Housing Benefit subsidy regulations and income recovery processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in revenues and benefits software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
