Summary: The role of Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant involves providing technical accounting expertise in IFRS 15 while supporting the Revenue Recognition Manager. This position requires mentoring team members and contributing to both operational revenue recognition and strategic integration projects over a 6-month contract. The accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advisory support on revenue recognition issues, ensuring compliance with IFRS 15.
  • Review customer contracts, purchase orders, statements of work, and terms & conditions to advise on appropriate revenue treatment.
  • Support accurate recording of revenue for complex agreements.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and management reports using advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Assist with integration projects, including process, data, and system alignment.
  • Produce revenue reports and forecasts, tracking actuals against projections.

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA).
  • Strong background in revenue accounting and IFRS 15 application.
  • Experience with software revenue recognition rules.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency essential.
  • Exposure to US GAAP is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Salary (Rate): £80,000 yearly

We are seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant to join a dynamic finance team on a 6-month contract. Acting as the key support to the Revenue Recognition Manager, you will provide technical accounting expertise (IFRS 15), mentor team members, and play a pivotal role in both operational revenue recognition and strategic integration projects.

Contract Type: 6 Month fixed term contract

Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 pa or Equivalent Day rate (inside IR35)

Hybrid Working: 2 days per week in the office
