Key Responsibilities:
- Build safe, trusting relationships with children who may have experienced significant trauma
- Deliver consistent routines, emotional support, and daily living assistance
- Respond to challenging behaviour using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
- Promote independence, self-esteem, and resilience in a nurturing environment
- Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, and multi-agency professionals
- Maintain accurate records, risk assessments, and safeguarding reports
Key Skills:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare / Health and Social Care (or equivalent or relevant experience)
- Minimum 6 months UK experience supporting children or young people in care
- Understanding of trauma, attachment, and behavioural challenges
- Emotionally resilient, calm under pressure, and committed to safeguarding
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work long days, sleep-ins, and weekends, as required by the rota
