Summary: The Resident Engineer (Civil Setting Out Engineer) role involves providing engineering support for the Pembroke Extension project at a live 400kV National Grid substation. This site-based role is temporary, with a contract duration from March to August 2026. Candidates must have proven experience and valid National Grid Persons certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out line and level using various surveying equipment
- Working to National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
- Acting as Document Controller for all civil drawings
- Supporting constructability reviews with the civil site team
- Raising Technical Queries (TQs) where required
- Assisting the site team with obtaining quotes and raising orders
- Completing and managing As-Built drawings
- Ensuring compliance with National Grid site standards and procedures
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Civil Setting Out Engineer on National Grid sites
- Must hold valid National Grid Persons
- Previous experience working on a National Grid substation project
- Strong knowledge of National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
- Competent in using surveying equipment for line & level setting out
- Ability to manage and control civil documentation
- Own PPE required
