Key Responsibilities:

About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Actuary (FIA) with reserving experience to join our dedicated team of 9 in London for a 6-month contract. Reporting to the Chief Actuary, you will support the reserving processes for the Britannia Group and the Griffin Insurance Association. This full-time role requires office attendance on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one additional day of your choice each week.
Your Responsibilities
- Reserving: Lead and complete interim and year-end reserving exercises, ensuring accuracy and compliance, including:
- Thoroughly reviewing work and providing constructive, detailed feedback to junior team members to foster their professional development
- Effectively communicating reserving results and insights to senior actuaries, colleagues, and key stakeholders
- Support branch reserving and allocation processes
- Contribute to the design and implementation of an early close reserving process to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reserving outputs meet regulatory and business requirements
- General: Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by the company, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting team objectives

About You
Knowledge/Experience
- Qualified Actuary with significant experience in reserving, within the insurance sector
- Familiarity with Solvency II deliverables and regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of ResQ software, with the ability to leverage its functionality for accurate reserving
- Experience in Protection & Indemnity (P&I) and/or Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance is highly advantageous
- Background in reserving transformation projects, data warehouses, or process optimisation is desirable
- Understanding of actuarial best practices and emerging trends in the insurance industry
Qualifications/Education
- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) or another recognised actuarial body (e.g., FCAS)
