Summary: An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Band 6 Research Nurse to join the General Surgical Research Team at St. James's University Hospital. The role involves supporting the delivery and management of the surgical research portfolio, ensuring high standards of clinical care, compliance with protocols, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position is full-time and permanent, emphasizing the importance of research in enhancing patient care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the General Surgery/Emergency Surgery research portfolio.
  • Ensure high standards of clinical care planning, delivery, safety, and patient satisfaction.
  • Support Senior Research Nurse and Principal Investigators in planning, scheduling, recruitment, patient care, and data collection for studies.
  • Develop clinical practice and maintain competencies related to the research portfolio.
  • Adhere to study pathways and processes for accurate data capture and pharmacovigilance.

Key Skills:

  • Significant post-registration experience.
  • Relevant clinical experience and knowledge of clinical research issues.
  • Experience with computer databases, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
  • Registered Nurse (Level 1 or 2), Midwife, or Clinical Research Practitioner registered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and autonomy.
