Research Finance Business Partner- Fixed-term Contract

Summary: The Finance Manager (Research) role at The Royal Institute of International Affairs involves acting as a Finance Business Partner to research teams, focusing on financial management, budgeting, and project costing. Key Responsibilities:

• Produce quarterly forecasts and the annual budget for the research centre.
• Support project costing and monitor financial management of research projects.
• Provide variance analysis and collaborate on management accounts production.
• Assist in preparing annual statutory accounts and oversee auditing processes.
• Ensure compliance with funding requirements and improve budgeting processes.
• Develop financial controls and support the implementation of a new finance system.
• Collaborate with Contracts Manager to ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Act as a key Business Partner to research colleagues, providing financial insights.

Key Skills:

• ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant.
• Experience in business partnering and financial project management.
• Experience in the charity/not-for-profit sector (advantageous).
• Ability to present financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong accuracy and consistency in work.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a collaborative approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of various funders and NGOs.

Salary (Rate): £60,000
