Summary: The Research Associate role at the ESRC Centre for Lifecourse Health Equity involves conducting qualitative research on health inequalities, synthesizing existing evidence, and engaging with public scrutiny panels. The position requires collaboration with colleagues and external organizations to design and deliver citizens' juries, as well as contributing to teaching and administrative functions. The appointee will also be responsible for securing additional funding and disseminating research findings through various channels. This is a fixed-term position until August 31, 2029.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze existing qualitative data and evidence.
  • Produce syntheses of existing evidence through meta-ethnographies.
  • Undertake new qualitative research where gaps are identified.
  • Establish and work with Public Scrutiny Panels to inform research.
  • Lead the procurement process for citizens' juries and collaborate with providers.
  • Analyze data from citizens' juries and support policy engagement.
  • Identify additional funding sources and contribute to grant proposals.
  • Write and publish research work in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Disseminate research results through conferences, blogs, and social media.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to inform departmental teaching efforts.
  • Supervise student projects and contribute to teaching as required.
  • Engage in administrative and management functions within the Centre.
  • Participate in continuous professional development.

Key Skills:

  • PhD level education or equivalent professional research experience.
